Jireh Funk by Big J of Unity Clan feat. Tonex It’s Friday night, 2002 and you’re rolling down the ave, windows down, radio blastin’, bass thumpin’, Daytons spinnin’, and your hydro’s are bouncin’ Cali style. And what are you bumpin’? It’s that Jireh Funk by Big J and Tonex. That Cali bounce all the way, but we weren’t bouncing just for the funky beat or because the background howlin’ on the track was so sick. It also was about recognizing that Jesus is our provider….for EVERYTHING. Even back then, people were looking for all kinds of things: fame, money, pleasure, whatever…and we just wanted to ask them…what you know about that Jireh funk? That’s Jehovah Jireh, the Lord God my Provider. He has all that you need. If you ask me, this track is definitely a slow burn because it still makes me want to just ride out with my Provider wherever His path leads.
